Young People

The Beacon Parish is delighted to welcome children and teenagers.

Little Beacons – this is for younger children and is held on the first and second Sundays of the month at St Margaret’s Church during our 10am service.  The children enjoy creative fun activities and share in a Bible story.  They are invited to share with the main congregation on their return.

All Age Service - this takes place on the last Sunday of the month in St Margaret’s Church.  There is a dedicated space in our side chapel with resources for the children to enjoy as well as encouraging participation in the service through music, singing, stories and prayers.

Ditchling (St Margaret’s) CE Primary and Nursery School

Collective Worship – our Vicar supports the Collective Worship at our local Ditchling St Margaret’s C E Primary and Nursery School where the school vision is based on the teachings of Jesus, underpinned with Christian values and heritage.  He leads sessions each term, planned with the Headteacher and school staff.

Visiting the Church – the school visits St Margaret’s Church to celebrate special festivals of worship throughout the year linked to Harvest, Christmas, Lent and Easter and at the end of terms.

Prayer Spaces – each year the school visits St Margaret’s Church for ‘Prayer Spaces’.  This is a nationwide project, to create spaces for children to have time to think and reflect, based on different themes.  You can find out more here:

We always look forward to seeing the many ideas which help the children to develop their own sense of identity, self-worth, personal insight, meaning and purpose.

Education Sunday – we hold one of our regular church services in the School when our congregation moves there.
